

Post museum
The Post Museum established between 1885-1890 opened its first permanent exhibition in 1955 in the tower rooms of the post palace at Buda. In 1972 the museum moved to its present location, the historical building erected at the end of the 19th century. Since 1990 it has operated in the frame of the Post and Telecom Museum Fund.Its collection contains relics of post, communications, program broadcasting, in a wider sense of the word the archives of the history of communications. The collection of objects contains 20 000 items, the collection of documents 67 000, the data archives 64 000 items, while the library contains 15 000 books.
Five full-time and four part-time employees work for the museum. The museum offers exhibitions on various themes at 11 venues, on a total area of 2100 square meters to the wide circle of visitors.
The permanent exhibition of the museum opened in 2000, titled "Museum in the museum". It shows the history and collections of the Post Museum, through typical - or on the contrary, through unique - objects and documents.
