Nyíregyháza 1st post office, 1996

 

Nyíregyháza is the dynamically developing seat of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. Postal services for the 120,000 inhabitants of the county seat are provided by 11 post offices. Post office No. 1 in the city center handles the largest traffic. As a result of the increase in the use of postal services, it became inevitable that No. 1 expansion of the post office, the preparations for which began in 1994. The part of the business used by the post office was purchased from the Nyíregyháza Municipality Office of Magyar Posta Rt. The program plan and execution plans for the reconstruction were prepared by the design team of Keletterv Kft. in Debrecen, led by chief architect István Lengyel and interior designer Péter Mohácsi.

Ozd 1st post office, 1996

The establishment of the new regional receiving, delivery and processing post office was justified by postal traffic and technical aspects. The former No. 1 the condition of the post office deteriorated to such an extent that it could no longer be economically restored, the 2. and the post office could not fulfill its processing tasks due to its limited floor space. The investment was realized from budget allowances and company funds. The Mayor's Office secured the construction site in the city center free of charge, the favorable location of which made it possible for the new post office to be located in the previously mentioned nos. 1 and 2. in addition to post offices, the 6. can also replace the post office. The building, which is of decisive importance in the cityscape, was made with traditional structures and a high-roof design, and the entire attic was built in. On the ground floor, there are branches, office delivery, post shop, storage and social rooms. On the first floor, there is the reception with six workplaces, the main cash register, delivery room, distribution and settlement, mail processing and filing, together with the necessary additional rooms. Material handling and passenger transport are carried out by elevator. In the attic, there is a training room, a rest room and a tea kitchen, as well as offices. The attractive building was designed by the creative community of Miskolc Provincia Kft. The construction work was carried out by Eger-based Heves Megyei Építő és Szolgáltató Kft. As a result of the investment, the working conditions of postal workers have improved significantly, and an aesthetic, cultured environment has been created for customers. As a combined effect of these two factors, a significant improvement in the standard of postal services is expected.

Postal vehicles, 1901-1929

 

The car was used in Hungary for the first time in the world in the postal service. Based on the results of several years of experiments, in 1900 the Hungarian post office, ahead of foreign post offices, announced a tender for the transport of three-wheeled motorized vehicles. As a result, Csonka's motorized tricycles appeared on the streets of Budapest. In the fall of 1900, 22 vehicles (21 three-wheelers and 1 four-wheeler) were deployed for the mail collection service. Hungary was followed by Austria, Germany, Great Britain, the United States of America and France. The automobile has become an important aid to the postal service all over the world. In the years leading up to World War I, there was a great interest in the Hungarian post office's car operation all over the world. The Hungarian post office sent a fully equipped motorized tricycle to the London exhibition in 1908.
