There are the quiet ones, the ones who never argue with anyone. He was such a colleagueIstván Varrówho left us tragically suddenly and painfully early on January 11. As a liberal arts major, he studied the history of communications with excitement so that visitors to the Diósd museum leave satisfied. And he succeeded! In the guest book, they thanked the always-smiling, soft-spoken curator one by one. But when the situation allowed it, this modest colleague, who was otherwise hidden in the background, proudly donned the postman's uniform and cheerfully participated in the museum games. The game now continues without him. You will be missed, Mr. Overseer!

The purpose of the association was to provide free postal services between countries. Magyar Posta discontinued its domestic telegram service as of April 30, 2021. The first telegraph - in this hemisphere - was transmitted between Vienna and Bratislava 174 years ago, i.e. in 1847. We explore all this from several perspectives: with the help of a historian, a futurist, a communication researcher and a technical museologist.

Magyaróvár M. kir opened 110 years ago. post and telegraph office
14.10.2019
On October 4, 1909, the post office opened in Magyaróvár in the two-story house designed and built by Béla Hőnel. Béla Hőnel was a busy master builder at the turn of the century and the following decades, who designed and built many buildings in and around today's Mosonmagyaróvár. As a prominent personality of the city, he was a member of the representative body, the legislative authority, several charitable and cultural associations, he was the president of the industry association, he did a lot for the city, its community and its citizens. The building standing today on Városkapu tér is one of the most beautiful houses in Magyaróvár, and it was not for nothing that it was called Postapalota for a long time, and for a while the square where it stands was also called Posta tér by the town public. The building has been expanded several times, but it has preserved its characteristics and still maintains its function, today it functions as the city's post office number 3. Október 4-én, a megnyitás 110. évfordulóján Beregszászi Balázs Hőnel Béla tisztelői és Urbán Gyöngyi a Postamúzeum nevében nevében helyezett el koszorút az épület oldalán.
